Sri Lanka, May 9 -- A three-wheeler transporting thirteen children has been involved in an accident in Pinhena, Aluthgama.

The three-wheeler, which belongs to a local children's home, was en route to a nearby school when the accident occurred, according to police.

The incident took place as the overloaded three-wheeler, carrying children with school bags, overturned while travelling down a slope at high speed.

The injured parties, including the students and the driver of the three-wheeler, were promptly admitted to the Beruwala Hospital.

Police further stated that six individuals who sustained serious injuries have since been transferred to the Nagoda Hospital for advanced medical care.
