Sri Lanka, May 8 -- Three additional suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting of two individuals in front of a restaurant in the Tambahitiya area of Meetiyagoda.

The suspects, aged 27, 40, and 44, are residents of Meetiyagoda and Kahawa and were arrested on charges of aiding and abetting the double murder, police said.

With these latest arrests, the total number of suspects apprehended in connection with the incident has risen to five, according to police reports.

The shooting was carried out on May 3 by unknown assailants who arrived on two motorcycles.
