Sri Lanka, Jan. 31 -- Three people were shot dead at a lodging house in the Maha Bodhiwatte area of the Hiniduma Police Division last night (30) when two unidentified gunmen arrived on a motorbike and opened fire before fleeing.

According to police, the assailants, who arrived on a Pulsar motorcycle, used a T-56 firearm in the attack. The victims included the 55-year-old owner of the lodging house, a resident of Maha Bodhiwatte, Panangala, and two others from Hiniduma and Ambalangoda.

The shooting occurred while the victims were consuming alcohol. Two other individuals who were drinking nearby fled the scene.
