Srilanka, Nov. 15 -- Three people were injured and hospitalised following an incident on the Halbarawa-Padukka road, where a motorcycle carrying two youths collided with a pedestrian and then crashed into a telephone pole, according to Moragahahena Police.
The injured parties include the 18-year-old rider and the 17-year-old pillion rider, both of whom were admitted to the Homagama Base Hospital. The 75-year-old pedestrian was admitted to the Padukka Hospital.
Police investigations reveal that the accident occurred when the 75-year-old pedestrian, who was allegedly under the influence of alcohol, walked into the path of the motorcycle.
The rider lost control, causing the motorcycle to swerve off the road and strike a telephone pole.
