Sri Lanka, Aug. 27 -- Three people, including two schoolchildren, were killed in a horrific head-on collision between a school van and a sand-filled tipper truck this morning near the Wila pala Bridge in Kuliyapitiya.

According to Kuliyapitiya Police, the fatalities include the driver of the school van and two students. In addition, 13 other schoolchildren were hospitalised following the accident.

Kuliyapitiya Police are currently conducting further investigations into the incident.
