Sri Lanka, Jan. 1 -- The Kandy Police Crime Division has arrested three suspects for allegedly stealing two high-capacity motorcycles that were being held as case evidence at the Kandy Court complex.
The theft occurred while a section of the court premises was submerged following the recent overflowing of the Mahaweli River due to adverse weather.
The suspects, aged 26, 28, and 42, are residents of the Kiribathkumbura, Gatambe, and Mawanella areas.
The investigation was launched after the Registrar of the Kandy Court filed a complaint with the Kandy Headquarters Police regarding the disappearance of the two motorcycles, which have engine capacities of 600cc and 1000cc, types of vehicles currently not permitted for general road use in S...
