Sri Lanka, July 18 -- Nuwara Eliya Police yesterday (17) arrested three individuals for allegedly poaching a deer in the reserved forest area near the Seetha Amman Temple in Nuwara Eliya.
The suspects were apprehended with the hunted meat, a 12-bore firearm, 9 rounds of ammunition, and 165 lead balls used for hunting.
Police stated that the individuals arrived in an SUV and are residents of the Dankotuwa and Kurunegala areas.
Following their arrest, the suspects were presented before the Nuwara Eliya Magistrate's Court, which ordered them to be remanded until July 31.
