Sri Lanka, June 28 -- The Colombo High Court ordered on June 26 for the adjournment of the case filed against former Central Bank Governor Ajith Nivard Cabraal and four other defendants until October 10.
The case concerns allegations of investing Sri Lankan government funds in Greek bonds in 2012, despite being aware of the Greek government's economic crisis, a transaction which the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC) alleges caused the government a loss of over Rs. 1.8 billion.
The pre-trial conference for the case was scheduled for June 26.
However, the prosecution submitted a motion requesting a postponement.
