Sri Lanka, Jan. 15 -- Prime Minister Dr Harini Amarasuriya called on all citizens to resolve to build a new Sri Lanka filled with harmony, rooted in mutual respect and the protection of diverse religious and cultural rights. In a message issued for Thai Pongal today (15), she extended her heartfelt greetings to the Tamil community in Sri Lanka and abroad.

The Prime Minister noted that this cultural tradition honours the dignity of labour and the protection provided by nature.
