Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- A tragic road collision in Midellamullahena, along the Horana-Thalgahavila road, claimed the life of 17-year-old R.M. Dilupa Prasan.

The victim, a resident of Munagama, Dikhenapura, was the eldest child of Samantha Rathnayake and Shriyanti Kumari.

The incident occurred on the 12th of the month when Dilupa set out on a motorcycle his mother had purchased just a month ago.

According to family members, Dilupa had gone to pick up a friend from Uduwa. On the return journey, the friend was riding the motorcycle while Dilupa was seated behind him.

As they traveled through the Midellamullahena area, their motorcycle collided with another bike ahead of them, which was being ridden by two women.
