Sri Lanka, Feb. 5 -- A peaceful protest was held near the Presidential Secretariat today (5) by the "National School Teachers' Children's Collective," demanding the reinstatement of admission privileges for their children.

The group is requesting that academic and non-academic staff who have completed three years of service be allowed to enrol their children in the national schools where they are employed.

Protesters, who were accompanied by their children, called for a formal discussion with the President to resolve the matter.
