Sri Lanka, March 24 -- Former Bangladesh captain Tamim Iqbal suffered a heart attack during a Dhaka Premier Division Cricket League match in Savar and underwent emergency angioplasty. Doctors confirmed that Tamim regained consciousness and spoke to a family member following the surgery on Monday. He will remain in the coronary care unit (CCU) for the next 48 hours under observation.

Tamim, leading Mohammedan Sporting Club against Shinepukur Cricket Club, fielded for just one over in the game before feeling chest discomfort.
