Sri Lanka, Aug. 30 -- A Swedish national was rescued by police lifesavers yesterday (29) after he was swept four kilometres out to sea while sky surfing off the coast of Pottuvil-Kottuhal.
The 40-year-old tourist, Jonas Marin, was thrown into the water after being caught in a sudden gust of wind and was in danger of drowning.
Police Sergeant Ruwan (Service No. 63382), and Constables Tharindu (Service No. 96886) and Kumara (Service No. 96976), who were on duty at the Kottuhal beach, launched a rescue operation and brought the tourist safely to shore.
