Sri Lanka, Sept. 7 -- Sri Lanka Ambulance Service Praised for Rapid Response After Deadly Bus Crash
In the wake of a devastating bus accident on the Ella-Wellawaya road that killed 15 people, Sri Lanka's Suwa Seriya National Ambulance Service has been commended for its swift and highly coordinated response.
The crash occurred near the 24th milepost on September 4. According to the Suwa Seriya Foundation, the first ambulance arrived within seven minutes, followed by six additional units from nearby stations, including Ella, Bandarawela, Badulla, Buttala, Hali-Ela, Wellawaya, and Badalkumbura.
Thirteen passengers were stabilised at the scene before being transported to hospitals.
