Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- A police constable, who was serving in the Special Bureau of Police Intelligence, has been arrested by the Borella police on suspicion of raping three women.
The constable, who was suspended from duty, reportedly entered a massage parlour on Castle Street in Borella, threatened the manager and four female employees, and then sexually assaulted three of them.
Police said the suspect was previously arrested and remanded by Kattankudy police in 2022 for attempting to murder his father.
His suspension was a result of that incident.
It is reported that another police constable from the Special Bureau accompanied the suspect during the incident.
