Sri Lanka, Oct. 18 -- The Colombo Additional Magistrate today (October 18) granted permission to the Police Narcotics Bureau (PNB) to detain and question for five days, until October 23, the five suspects who were on the multi-day fishing trawler seized by the Navy in the southern seas with a haul of 53 kilograms of heroin.

The five suspects who were granted detention for questioning are all residents of the Matara area.

The suspects connected to the incident were presented to the court today by the PNB.

Investigating officers informed the court that the suspects were arrested on charges of possession and trafficking of narcotics.
