Srilanka, Nov. 20 -- The Colombo Additional Magistrate Liyan Warusawithana today (20) ordered the further remand of the suspect, who allegedly defrauded Dr. Shafi by promising to provide him with a luxury motor car valued at Rs. 15.9 million, until the 26th of this month.

The suspect in the incident was produced before the court today by the Fraud Investigation Bureau.

Investigating officers informed the court that the suspect had claimed a luxury vehicle from the United Kingdom Embassy was being auctioned and had taken over Rs. 15 million from Dr. Shafi on several occasions to secure the vehicle.

After considering the facts presented, the Magistrate ordered the suspect to be remanded in custody.
