Sri Lanka, Feb. 1 -- The Nugegoda Acting Magistrate ordered the remand of a 43-year-old suspect until February 11 for an identification parade.
The individual, a resident of Madampe, is accused of participating in a violent assault on Mervyn de Silva, a prominent lawyer and Vice President of the Colombo Magistrates' Court Lawyers' Association.
The lawyer was targeted while representing the primary suspect in a massive 900 million rupee financial fraud currently being heard at the Nugegoda Magistrate's Court.
The underlying fraud case involves Dinesh Wimalachandra, the owner of a job agency named 'Rainbow Manpower' in Maharagama.
