Srilanka, Dec. 26 -- The motorcyclist allegedly involved in the August 2022 shooting of Sumudu Rukshan, former Vice Chairman of the Kotikawatta-Mulleriyawa Pradeshiya Sabha, has been arrested.

The Western Province South Crimes Division apprehended the 32-year-old resident of Thalahena in Malabe.

The shooting incident took place on August 2, 2022. Officers recovered 5 grams and 430 milligrams of methamphetamine along with a forged foreign passport from the suspect's possession during the raid.

The individual currently faces two open warrants issued by the Colombo High Court for separate cases. The Western Province South Crimes Division confirmed the identity of the suspect following a detailed investigation into the homicide.
