Sri Lanka, March 12 -- The suspect involved in the sexual assault of a female doctor in Anuradhapura has been arrested by the Galnewa Police.

The incident occurred when the female doctor went to her room on the hospital premises to get dinner. Investigations revealed that an unknown individual threatened her with a sharp weapon and committed the crime.

A 32-year-old female trainee doctor working at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital witnessed the incident.

In response, doctors at the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital launched a continuous strike from yesterday morning, demanding justice and improved security for medical staff. Patients seeking treatment at the hospital faced significant inconvenience due to the strike.
