Sri Lanka, Sept. 7 -- Beruwala Police have arrested a suspect on Saturday night for a robbery at the home of a Chinese woman and her business partner, who are gem dealers at the Beruwala China Katuwa Gem Auction. A stock of gems valued at three crore rupees was stolen from their residence.
The police stated that the foreign nationals, who lived on Mallabokka Road in Hettimulla, Beruwala, regularly visited the gem auction. On one such occasion, the Chinese woman filed a complaint with the Beruwala Police, stating that someone had entered the house by opening the main door and stolen a large stock of gems worth three crore rupees.
