Srilanka, Nov. 19 -- The Supreme Court yesterday (18) scheduled for hearing on November 20 a fundamental rights petition filed by 23 nursing officers challenging the criteria used for their promotion to the rank of 'Nursing Sister'.
The petitioners, led by Nadeesha Abeysinghe, claim that their fundamental rights have been violated by authorities who rejected their promotions because their performance evaluation was deemed "Satisfactory" instead of the required "Good".
The nursing officers assert that they possess the necessary qualifications for promotion.
However, they argue that the authorities deemed the "Satisfactory" recommendation in their performance appraisal inadequate, insisting that it should be "Good" for them to be eligible...
