Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- The Supreme Court has set a date for February 24 to hear a petition filed by a student who qualified for university admission. The petitioner claims that his fundamental human rights were violated by the University Grants Commission's (UGC) decision to deny him the opportunity to study for a technology degree because of his disability.
The petition was called before a Supreme Court bench comprising Chief Justice Preethi Padman Surasena and Justice Shiran Gunaratne.
