Sri Lanka, June 30 -- The Supreme Court has advised that certain clauses in the proposed Electricity Bill require amendments.
This was announced today (30) by Deputy Speaker Dr. Rizvie Salih, as he addressed the special session of Parliament.
The Supreme Court's recommendation to amend the bill follows its consideration of several petitions filed against the proposed legislation.
The Court found that some clauses in the bill are inconsistent with the Constitution, thus necessitating revisions.
