Sri Lanka, May 8 -- Sri Lanka's Supreme Court today (08) rejected an appeal filed by former Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka, who sought to have the indictment against him and two other defendants in the 2016 'hit-and-run' case quashed.
In its ruling, however, the Supreme Court upheld the indictment and directed the Colombo High Court to proceed with the indictment filed against the three defendants, including the former Minister and his driver, Diulm Thusitha Kumara.
The decision was delivered by Justice Yasantha Kodagoda, with the concurrence of Chief Justice Murdu Fernando and Justice Gamini Amarasekara.
