Sri Lanka, June 20 -- Three branches of a major supermarket chain have been fined Rs. 200,000 each for selling expired goods.
This action follows raids conducted by the Consumer Affairs Authority.
The Authority recently filed cases against the three supermarket branches, located in the Dematagoda and Mattakkuliya areas, at the Aluthkade Magistrate's Court.
The court imposed the fines after the respective supermarkets pleaded guilty to the charges.
