Sri Lanka, July 9 -- The Department of Meteorology forecasted wind speeds to increase in several parts of the country, reaching up to 40 kmph.
Areas likely to be affected include the western slopes of the Central Highlands, as well as the Northern, North Central, North Western, Southern provinces, and the Trincomalee district.
Meanwhile, the department further stated that several spells of rain may occur this afternoon in the Western and Sabaragamuwa provinces, along with certain areas in the Kandy, Nuwara Eliya, Galle and Matara districts.
