SriLanka, Jan. 27 -- Police are maintaining strict surveillance regarding the spread of narcotics among students, according to Police Media Spokesperson Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) F.U. Wootler.

Speaking at a press conference today (27), he revealed that dealers are using deceptive tactics to sell substances such as "Mawa" and "Babul" by disguising them as common treats, including ice pops, cotton candy, toffees, biscuits, and saravita.

Authorities have already arrested 11 suspects connected to these operations.

The spokesperson emphasised that the law will be enforced rigorously against anyone targeting schools, with a zero-tolerance policy in place for drug-related offenses.
