Sri Lanka, Jan. 12 -- Mirihana Police have successfully uncovered a major vehicle theft ring, recovering 11 stolen three-wheelers following an investigation into a theft at a musical show in Kimbulawala.

The breakthrough came after officers tracked down the first stolen vehicle and a suspect in the Kuruwita area.

Subsequent interrogations led to the arrest of two additional accomplices.

Further investigations across Yatiyantota, Balangoda, Badulla, and Battaramulla resulted in the discovery of ten more stolen three-wheelers.

Police revealed that the gang had already altered the paint colours, chassis numbers, and number plates of the vehicles, while also forging documents to facilitate their sale.
