Sri Lanka, Feb. 18 -- Colombo SSC Sports Club, one of Sri Lanka's oldest and most prestigious cricket clubs, is at risk of losing its first-class status after a disappointing performance in this year's Inter-Club Three-Day Cricket Tournament.

SSC finished eighth in Group B after suffering a first-innings defeat against Colombo NCC in their final match, which ended in a draw. They managed just one win in eight matches, with two losses and five draws.

As a result, SSC is set to be relegated to the lower division in next year's tournament. The club, which has produced many top Sri Lankan cricketers, currently features stars like ODI captain Charith Asalanka, former Test captain Dimuth Karunaratne, Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Mendis, Avishka Ferna...
