Sri Lanka, June 6 -- A SriLankan Airlines flight, UL 306, carrying nearly 200 passengers, made an emergency landing at Madena Airport in Sumatra, Indonesia, due to a technical fault.
The aircraft had departed from Katunayake Airport at 1:50 AM yesterday (5) en route to Singapore when the sudden technical issue forced its diversion.
However, due to Indonesian immigration regulations, passengers faced difficulties in leaving the airport. Following a request from Sri Lankan authorities, some passengers have been transferred to accommodation, while others reportedly remain at the airport.
