Sri Lanka, June 15 -- The Sri Lankan Rupee has depreciated by 2.2% against the US Dollar so far this year, according to the Central Bank.
In its weekly economic report, the Central Bank noted that reserve money increased compared to the previous week, driven by an increase in currency in circulation and a rise in commercial banks' deposits held at the Central Bank.
As of yesterday (13), the total net market liquidity deficit stood at Rs. 187.53 billion.
