Sri Lanka, April 18 -- The Sri Lankan Embassy in Israel has issued a statement advising Sri Lankans residing in Israel to be vigilant and prioritise their safety following the successful interception of missile attacks targeting Israel by the Houthi terrorist organisation in Yemen earlier today.

The embassy highlighted two upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year celebrations scheduled at open-air venues: Tel Aviv Lunar Park on Saturday, April 19, 2025, and Jerusalem Ganscher Stadium on Saturday, April 26, 2025. Due to the open nature of these locations, the embassy strongly urges attendees to identify and be prepared to take shelter in a nearby safe house or shelter in the event of a sudden attack.
