Sri Lanka, Nov. 3 -- Officers from the Sri Lanka Customs Narcotics Control Unit (NCU) arrested a Sri Lankan national who attempted to smuggle 2.07 kilograms of Kush Cannabis into the country, valued at over Rs. 21 million .

The arrested individual is a 28-year-old.

He arrived at the Katunayake Bandaranaike International Airport on November 3, 2025, via Indigo flight 6E1171, which originated from Bangkok, Thailand, and transited through Chennai, India.

The amount of Kush Cannabis found in the suspect's possession was 2.07 kilograms, which was discovered concealed inside the suspect's checked-in luggage.

Customs states the value of the seized drugs is over Rs. 21 million.
