Sri Lanka, July 4 -- A Sri Lankan national has been arrested at a Thai airport for attempting to illegally smuggle three pythons out of the country.
Polawi Buchakiet, Director of the Thai Wildlife Crime Intelligence Centre, stated that officials received intelligence that the suspect arrived in Bangkok at 12:06 AM on a Thai Airways flight, TG308.
Reports indicate this individual was previously arrested in Colombo in 2024 on wildlife charges.
Suspicious behaviour led to a search of the individual, where three ball pythons (Python regius) were discovered.
