Sri Lanka, June 3 -- The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal to issue a permit to the Sri Lanka Triposha Limited Company to import 18,000 metric tons of maize, to ensure the continuous production of Trisposha.

Triposha is supplied as a supplementary nutritional food to all pregnant mothers, lactating mothers (until the baby is six months old), and malnourished children between six months and five years of age.

Maize and soybean are the primary raw materials for the supplement.

Sri Lanka Triposha Limited requires an annual supply of 18,000 metric tonnes of maize, equating to 1,500 metric tonnes per month.
