Sri Lanka, Jan. 16 -- Sri Lanka's tourism sector began 2026 on a strong note, with the first half of January recording 131,898 tourist arrivals, signaling a positive start to the year.
It was also encouraging to note that the average daily arrival rate crossed the 8,700 mark, with arrivals exceeding 10,000 visitors on 12 January and 15 January, reflecting robust demand during the peak travel period.
With the peak season expected to continue into the early months of the year, this positive arrival trend is expected to be sustained in the coming months, reinforcing confidence in Sri Lanka's tourism recovery and growth outlook.
