Sri Lanka, June 29 -- Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekhar has stated that no action will be taken to return the Katchatheevu island, which was diplomatically and legally transferred to Sri Lanka, to India.
Meanwhile, Indian External Affairs Minister Dr. S. Jaishankar, speaking at a ceremony in India, recently stated that the rights of Indian fishermen to fish in Sri Lankan waters have been violated due to an agreement reached with Sri Lanka under the state of emergency.
However, Fisheries Minister Ramalingam Chandrasekhar reiterated at a media briefing held yesterday (28) that no action would be taken to return the Katchatheevu island to India.
