Sri Lanka, April 17 -- Sri Lanka has recorded an increase in active credit card usage, with Central Bank data indicating a rise of 1,770 active credit cards in February of this year.
The total number of active credit cards, which stood at 2,018,996 at the end of January, increased to 2,020,766 by the end of February, representing a 0.1% increase.
Reports indicate that active credit card usage has increased by 0.6% in the first two months of 2025.
In 2024, the number of active credit cards in Sri Lanka increased by 4.8%, or 91,371 cards.
December 2024 also saw an increase of 19,076 active credit cards.
