Sri Lanka, April 17 -- Sri Lankan officials are under fire for alleged negligence at the 6th Asian Under-18 Athletics Championships, currently underway in Saudi Arabia.
A 19-member squad from Sri Lanka is taking part, and athlete Janith Lakshan secured the nation's first medal for the men's triple jump, winning silver with a distance of 15.10 meters.
Sewmini Fernando won the silver medal in the women's 100-meter event, while Lahiru Achintha struck bronze in the men's 1,500-meter event.
