Sri Lanka, Sept. 2 -- Sri Lanka's Minister of Foreign Affairs, Vijitha Herath, has expressed a positive view of the proposals put forward by Chinese President Xi Jinping at the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) Plus meeting in Tianjin.

In a statement posted on social media, Mr Herath highlighted his approval of the Global Development, Security and Civilisation Initiatives, along with the Global Governance Initiative.

The minister noted that these proposals align with key principles such as sovereign equality, the rule of law, multilateralism, people-centred development, and a focus on practical cooperation.
