Sri Lanka, March 19 -- Sri Lanka's economy recorded a 5% growth in 2024, marking a strong turnaround driven by renewed macroeconomic stability, according to the Central Bank of Sri Lanka (CBSL).

The Census and Statistics Department reported that the economy expanded by 5.4% in the fourth quarter of 2024. The International Monetary Fund had earlier predicted a 4.5% growth for the year.

Sri Lanka's agriculture sector grew by 8.3%, industrial output expanded by 25.5%, and services increased by 57.5% in 2024.
