Sri Lanka, May 1 -- Sri Lanka's Purchasing Managers' Index for Construction (PMI - Construction) registered a Total Activity Index of 54.3 in March 2025, indicating a continued expansion in construction work.

According to survey respondents, this growth was primarily driven by a conducive environment characterised by stable prices and favourable weather conditions.

The New Orders index also showed expansion during March.

However, many respondents noted that the majority of available construction projects are currently small-scale developments.

In line with the increased construction activities, the Quantity of Purchases index rose during the month.
