Sri Lanka, Sept. 6 -- The Permanent Mission of Sri Lanka in Geneva has responded to a report on the country by the UN Human Rights High Commissioner. The report is scheduled to be presented at the 60th session of the UN Human Rights Council (UNHRC) on September 8.

The Sri Lankan mission stated that it does not accept Resolution 57/1, which is the basis for the report. It further affirmed its continuous opposition to the accountability project operating under that resolution, arguing that such external projects are detrimental to the domestic reconciliation process.
