Sri Lanka, Sept. 9 -- Foreign Affairs Minister Vijitha Herath has addressed the 60th Session of the United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) in Geneva, where he reaffirmed the Government's commitment and political will for a transformational change in Sri Lanka.
Speaking at the Interactive Dialogue on Sri Lanka yesterday (8), Minister Herath underlined the creation of a new political culture to advance the rights and well-being of all Sri Lankans.
He urged the Council to allow the country time and space to achieve national unity and reconciliation through its domestic processes.
According to Sri Lanka's Foreign Ministry, 43 countries expressed solidarity with Sri Lanka during the dialogue.
