Sri Lanka, Sept. 18 -- Sri Lanka has officially become a State Party to a landmark United Nations treaty, marking a significant step in its maritime governance.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Foreign Employment, and Tourism announced that Sri Lanka submitted its instrument of ratification yesterday (16) for the UN Convention on the Law of the Sea on the Conservation and Sustainable Use of Marine Biological Diversity of Areas Beyond National Boundaries.
The Ministry described the ratification as a milestone, emphasising Sri Lanka's longstanding role in international maritime affairs.
