Sri Lanka, Oct. 28 -- Sri Lanka is collaborating with the International Criminal Police Organisation (Interpol) to curb scamming activities, particularly those involving Chinese nationals who often enter the country on tourist visas.
The effort is focused on identifying and deporting these individuals so they can face legal action under Chinese law, a Minister mentioned yesterday (27).
This enhanced law enforcement drive comes as China shows a keen interest in tackling its nationals involved in cross-border gambling and fraud.
The issue was a key point of discussion during recent bilateral talks between Sri Lankan Prime Minister Harini Amarasuriya and Chinese President Xi Jinping.
