Sri Lanka, March 14 -- Sri Lanka Muslim Congress (SLMC) MP Mohamed Sali Naleem has resigned from his parliamentary position. Announcing his decision in parliament today (14), Naleem stated he is stepping down to contest the upcoming Local Government Election for the Eravur Urban Council.
Naleem was sworn in as a National List MP representing the SLMC on December 3 in the Tenth Parliament. He previously served as the Chairman of the Eravur Urban Council.
