Sri Lanka, Sept. 17 -- The Chinese Ambassador to Sri Lanka, Qi Zhenhong, says that Sri Lanka has entered a "new era" with the election of President Anura Kumara Dissanayake.
The ambassador made the comments while offering his congratulations on the resumption of construction on the Kadawatha-Mirigama section of the Central Expressway.
Speaking at the ceremony, the Chinese Ambassador noted that for "well-known reasons," the first phase of the project had been implemented with low efficiency in recent years.
However, he added that with the new president in office, the project has regained momentum.
