Sri Lanka, June 29 -- Sri Lanka has established five early warning systems to detect potential radiation impacts on the country in the event of a nuclear incident.
These systems have been strategically placed in Kalpitiya, Mannar, Delft, Batticaloa, and Trincomalee.
The Director of the Inspection and Enforcement Division at the Sri Lanka Atomic Energy Regulatory Council, Prageeth Kadadunna, stated that these systems are primarily located at naval bases.
This network will enable the monitoring of radiation levels reaching Sri Lanka should a nuclear power plant in a neighbouring country experience an incident.
